"Focused On My Future" Scholarship

The Washington Section of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) Inc. "Focused On My Future" scholarship was created to support high school seniors seeking higher education opportunities. This scholarship aligns with the NCNW's national focus on critical concerns known as "Four for the Future". This includes the promotion of education with a special focus on STEM: science, technology, engineering, and math; encourages entrepreneurship, financial literacy and economic stability; educates women about good health and HIV/AIDS; promotes civic engagement and advocates for sound public policy consistency with traditional values.

Dementia Stories DC Recruitment

The DAP Project is recruiting DC residents living with dementia and the caregivers who support them to participate in Dementia Stories DC, an arts based storytelling initiative that will culminate in a public exhibit this June in recognition of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.

Hosted by The DAP Project, this project uses creative workshops, portrait photography, and storytelling to honor lived experience and raise awareness about the growing impact of dementia in Washington, DC. The workshops will be facilitated by leaders from George Washington University, creating a thoughtful and supportive space for participants and families.

DC Office of the Attorney General (OAG), Consumer and Tenant Response (CTR)

OAG CTR tries to resolve consumer and tenant complaints outside of court, through a voluntary complaint resolution process. In CY 2025, we addressed about 8000 consumer and tenant complaints and returned approximately $1.3 million dollars to consumers and tenants. This program was recently renamed OAG CTR (formerly OAG Mediation) to more closely describe what the program does, and who the program can help. The best way for consumers and tenants to connect with OAG CTR is by submitting a complaint through the online portal at oag.dc.gov/complaint, or calling the OAG CTR Hotline at 202.442.9828 and leaving a message in their preferred language (calls are returned the same business day).
