Hi neighbors,
Thank you for sharing all of your feedback last week about the construction that will be starting on the 295 ramp. Everyone was overwhelmingly in favor of work happening after hours (from 7PM to 7AM), and I'll be sure to share the next update I get about when the work is going to start.
I have another big question you to consider this week. Today, every Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner received an email from the Director of the DC National Guard to let us know they are putting together a Beautification Task Force, and they want to know if they can support cleanup and other beautification projects in our neighborhood. I asked if they will be armed - I was told that they will not be carrying weapons while on this task force.
What do you think? What are your questions? What are your concerns? Please respond to this email so we can all weigh the pros and cons together. In my newsletter next week, I'll summarize all of your feedback.

Events DC Quarterly Meeting - September 15, 6:00 PM
Mark your calendar! The next RFK Virtual Quarterly Meeting will be hosted by Events DC on September 15, at 6:00 pm. Community members and stakeholders can hear from Events DC leadership who will share information about upcoming events and updates at Events DC venues. The meeting will take place on Microsoft Teams.
Sun Day - September 21
Sun Day is a nationwide event on September 21st that celebrates solar power! In DC, there will be sites across the District to learn about all the ways you can power your life with solar, batteries, and EVs. Residents at many solar homes, and vetted installers and experts at information hubs across the city will be there to answer your questions.
