Today on Alden Place, someone was passing out flyers with information about upcoming street repaving. The exact dates and times were not listed, so please keep an eye out for future communications about this construction in the neighborhood and/or follow the Weekly Construction Updates here. It looks like several streets in River Terrace will be repaved in 2026:

RFK Community Meeting
Join us for the next community meeting in our ongoing discussion about the future of the RFK Memorial Stadium Campus. Following the National Park Service’s publication of the Notice of Intent to proceed with the preparation of a National Environmental Policy Act Environmental Impact Statement and the National Historic Preservation Act Section 106 consultation process, this community meeting will share the alternatives for commercial and residential development on the RFK Memorial Stadium Campus. We will also provide an update on upcoming utility work and other planning efforts.

DC Water Construction Project
As part of its Capital Improvement Program, DC Water will be performing sanitary sewer rehabilitation project within the Anacostia Park, Fairlawn, Buena Vista, Barry Farm, Greenway, Kenilworth, Mayfair, River Terrace, Anacostia Naval Station, Bolling Air Force Base and Anacostia Neighborhoods. While extending the service life of this sewer system, other benefits of this rehabilitation project will include improved structural integrity of the sewer, while also maintaining adequate hydraulic capacity and mitigating potential sanitary sewer overflows. Scope of work for this project will include the following:
Construction on this project could begin as early as this week and should be completed by July 2033. The normal work hours will be from 9:30am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. However, as construction continues there may be portions of work that result in night and/or weekend activities due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, but every attempt will be made to keep these activities at a minimum. Camp Riverview Lottery
Camp Riverview is a free summer overnight and day camp for ages 8-13 located on the Potomac River, open June 22, 2025 - August 7, 2025. Campers are immersed in the outdoors while having fun, making new friends, and building self-confidence.
The staff of Camp Riverview strive to create an atmosphere that supports a global understanding and appreciation of the natural environment while offering a variety of educational opportunities.
Campers will enjoy hands-on programs in environmental science, boating, nature-based surroundings, and work with skilled instructors in a positive environment.
The lottery is open now through May 4.
Department of Energy and Environment - Clearing the Air: The Year in Review
Join us for a review of the District's air quality over the past year. DOEE’s Air Quality Division has been working hard all year to keep our air clean and protect your health! As part of Air Quality Awareness Week (May 4th - May 8th), we’re hosting this online meeting so you can learn more about our recent activities, like the installation of our low-cost sensor network and engine idling enforcement. We’ll also provide details on our current and upcoming activities and answer your questions.
