March 9, 2026
Hi neighbors,
I have a quick update about this newsletter: next week, I will be sending the newsletter directly from Ghost (this site where the newsletters live) rather than the 7D04@anc.dc.gov official email address. This will help me manage my email as well as let you opt out directly without having to message me.
With this change, the newsletter might look a little different, and it will be coming from this email address: 7d04-river-terrace@ghost.io. Make sure to add this email address to your contacts and mark it as safe so the newsletter doesn't end up in your spam folder!
The second update I have is that there are MANY opportunities coming up for you to share feedback about different things from when you want to have the River Terrace Plant Swap to your feelings about crime. Scroll all the way down to see all of those opportunities.
Katie

Share Your Feedback: ICE and National Guard Presence in DC
This week, I met with DC native and current college student Camila Levey who is writing her senior thesis about safety and the federal presence in DC. She is looking for more Ward 7 residents willing to do a 30-45 minute interview, in English or Spanish, in person or by phone/Zoom. If you're interested, you can contact Camila by email (camilalevey@uchicago.edu) or phone (202-640-9685). All information you share with her will be kept confidential.

Community Open Houses for RFK Memorial Stadium Campus Master Plan
Join either of two open houses this month focused on a master plan for the campus. The master plan is part of the District's redevelopment planning for the RFK Campus, and it builds on community visioning sessions from the past six months.

- Department of Employment Services
- 4058 Minnesota Ave NE - map it (Closest Metro: Minnesota Ave)
- Register for the open house (suggested, but not required)

The RFK master plan will cover the entire campus, outlining opportunities for mixed-use development and community amenities. It will include guidance on buildings, parks, and pedestrian-friendly public spaces to support the area’s transformation into a vibrant neighborhood with homes, jobs, entertainment, recreation, and state-of-the-art facilities.
DPR Survey
The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is updating its Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP), and they would like to hear from you! The SCORP is used to prioritize and select outdoor recreation projects in the District to receive funding from the Land and Water Conservation Fund in the National Park Service.
DPR wants to know more about how you enjoy the outdoors, what outdoor activities you do, and what activities you wish you could do through DPR. Your insights will shape the SCORP priorities and help plan the future.
Community Health Needs Assessment
Join a facilitated community vision setting session in Wards 7 and 8 to share your ideas, identify community strengths, and help shape future community health planning.
These sessions center the voices, experiences, and knowledge of community members and are a core part of our Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) process. Register here.
