Hello neighbors,
One of my favorite River Terrace events of the year is happening this weekend: the River Terrace Annual Garden Tour! Meet at the River Terrace Park Rose Garden on Sunday, October 4 at 2:30 (at the corner of Clay St NE and Anacostia Ave NE) before heading out on a walk around the neighborhood to stop at different gardens and meet your neighbors! Register here so we know how many people will be joining!
Another walking tour opportunity is coming up this week: join Councilmember Felder, Brian Hanlon of the RFK PMO, and representatives from the Office of Planning for a RFK Campus Site Walkthrough on Wednesday from 5 to 6:50 PM. Meet at the corner of East Capitol St. and 19th St. SE. Register here!
In other RFK Stadium news, the Mayor shared the finalized Master Plan last week - you can read it here. Thanks to your feedback and the letter we sent in as a community, River Terrace is now listed as being included in the wider study area (on page 25), and we are mentioned in several other pages of the master plan!
Not done sharing your feedback about RFK or other areas of concern in the city? We have many more opportunities to share feedback in the form of DC Council Legislative Hearings that are taking place now and in the next few weeks. The Committee of the Whole is meeting on Wednesday to talk about the RFK Master Plan Small Area Plan, but there are many more hearings on other topics. Take a look at the calendar linked above and sign up to testify if you see any areas of interest!
Have a wonderful week,
Katie
