It has been a pleasure serving you as Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for River Terrace this past year. I'd love to continue advocating for our neighborhood in this role, and I need 25 signatures from registered River Terrace voters to qualify to get my name on the ballot for November's election.

After nearly a year of conversations, community events, and listening sessions, The 51st's Information Ecosystem Assessment is finally here.
What this actually means: We've put together a report based on what more than 300 Ward 7 residents told us about the issues that matter most in their community.
Now we're ready to share what we learned, hear your reactions, and work together on the stories you want to see covered.

Fix-It DC Free Community Repair Event
Fix-it DC will be at the Lederer Gardens Pavilion on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 11am-1pm. This free outdoor event is your opportunity to bring some larger items in need of repair. Coaches will assist in disassembling and troubleshooting how to repair your item. Chose one of two time slots to register!

The Flock Is Hot: How MPD Uses AI to Track You
Want to learn more about the current state of surveillance in DC? Join DeFlock DC for an information session centered on the AI-enabled Flock camera system installed throughout our city.
The program will include an overview of automatic license plate readers (ALPRs): what they are, the threat they pose to our communities, and the city's relationship with the companies that maintain them. We will discuss surveillance practices broadly as well as how they are especially weaponized against black and brown communities, closing with a Q&A session.

ANC Meeting on WMATA Gold Line
In September, ANC 6A's Transportation and Public Space Committee plans to discuss the proposed WMATA Gold Line with DC Council Transportation Chair CM Allen and perhaps a WMATA representative. The meeting will take place on Monday, Sept. 21, at 7 PM. Keep an eye on the ANC 6A website for an updated Zoom link as we get closer to the date.
