Lots of events are happening in the neighborhood and Ward 7 this week, so don't miss out:

  1. River Terrace Community Organization Meeting: Wednesday at 6:30 PM at the River Terrace Education Campus (420 34th Street NE)
  2. Ward 7 Community Clean Up: Wednesday from 11 AM-2PM; meet at McDonald's at 3901 Minnesota Avenue Northeast
  3. River Terrace Park Earth Day Cleanup: Saturday from 11 AM-1 PM; meet by the tennis courts in River Terrace Park
  4. River Terrace Plant, Seed, Clothing, and Stuff Swap: Saturday from 1:30-4 PM; bring seeds, plants, clothing, and other things you'd like to swap with neighbors

DC Council Fiscal Year 2027 Budget Oversight Hearings

Construction on 295

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to begin resurfacing work including concrete work on DC-295 from Jay Street NE to East Capitol Street starting on or about Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Concrete work will occur between 9:30 am to 3:30 pm (Daytime work) while milling and paving operations work will occur between 7:00 pm to 5:00 am (Nighttime Work), Monday through Friday, weather permitting. The roadway project is anticipated to be completed by Friday, May 22, 2026. Temporary Lane closures are to be expected with one travel lane remaining open.


Metro Message Live: Bus Town Hall

Get ready to connect in person at Metro Headquarters to discuss all things Metro Bus! Metro’s Leadership will provide an overview of recent improvements and investments in our bus service such as the addition of 13 miles of new bus lanes and the launch of the Metro Pulse app.

Following the presentation, attendees can engage directly with subject matter experts in Bus Planning and Transportation, Bus Priority, Fleet, Digital Modernization, Metro Integrated Control and Communications Center, Customer Service, and MTPD. The event will also give attendees the opportunity to check out one of Metro’s newest buses.

Space is limited. Admission will be granted to the first 100 registered individuals to arrive.
