Hello everone,

Last week, a neighbor was walking their leashed dogs when they were attacked by two dogs that were off leash and unsupervised. Thankfully, everyone is expected to be okay, but incidents like this are a reminder of why leash laws matter. They help protect our neighbors and their beloved pets.

As a reminder, DC law requires all dogs in public spaces to be on a leash no longer than 4 feet. Dogs may only be off leash in officially designated Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) dog parks. Thank you for helping keep our community safe!

Thank you,
Katie
