June 8, 2026
Hi everyone,
Early voting begins today! Find an early voting center here.
Once voting is over, there's still a lot you can do to be involved in the local community. Here are a few ideas:
Join the Monthly Virtual 7D Meeting
Every month, Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners from 7D have a meeting to hear from government agencies like DDOT and MPD, find out about initiatives going on throughout 7D and the ward, and speak up about things that are important to us. This is the time to share your feedback, escalate issues, and have your concerns heard by the people who can actually make the changes you want.
Next meeting: tomorrow, June 9, 7 PM

Bring a Neighbor to the RTCO Meeting Next Wednesday, June 17
Next Wednesday's RTCO meeting is the last one before the summer break. Consider inviting a neighbor who hasn't attended before. New voices, perspectives, and ideas make our community stronger, and it's a great way to help more residents get connected and informed. Meet us at the River Terrace Education campus at 6:30 PM.
Share this Newsletter with a Neighbor
I share so many opportunities, updates, and news items relevant to our neighborhood in this newsletter, but we only have 300 people subscribed. Encourage your neighbors to sign up so they can get this information, too!
Work Together on 311 Requests
If you've noticed broken sidewalks, potholes, abandoned properties, illegal dumping, a street that needs speed bumps, or other neighborhood concerns, don't assume someone else has already reported them. Organize a few neighbors to submit 311 requests together. Multiple reports get a faster response than just one.
Donate Shelf-Stable Items to the Little Free Pantry
There's a little free pantry at the corner of 34th Street and Clay Street NE, so if you have extra unopened shelf-stable foods (ones that DO NOT require refrigeration), feel free to put them into the pantry to help others who might need a little extra support.
Have a nice week,
Katie
